ABOUT
Founded in 2025 in Rome by Flavia Prestininzi and Enrico Palmieri, CANTADORA is a gallery born from the urgent need to tell stories and to give space to artists’ biographies through a considered and ethical exhibition practice. Cantadora embraces a participatory, collective, autonomous, and pedagogical approach that informs a program both articulated and coherent — one capable of reflecting the complexity and multiplicity of our time. Its program seeks to maintain, within its heterogeneity, a clear and shared direction, offering space to some of the most pressing social and political issues — those that question us, concern us directly, and compel us to act, to take a stand, and to build new alliances through art.
At the heart of our curatorial approach lies the idea of building reciprocal relationships with the artists we collaborate with, fostering an ongoing and open dialogue. We believe that each exhibition should not be an isolated episode, but rather the outcome of a shared process — one that unfolds over time and continues to resonate even after the exhibition has ended. It is precisely this vision that led us to open Cantadora: a place conceived as a living archive of narratives, where stories intertwine, overlap, and resonate with one another, activating connections across practices, generations, contexts, and geographies.
